About the Artist

Creating feels like a way to make sense of chaos.   I take a collection of scraps, which on their own hold little meaning, and through shaping and reassembling them, an image emerges ---realistic, layered, and often touched with whimsy.   When creating collage quilts, I feel both a jolt of joy and a deep sense of calm.  There is a feeling of safety in watching the chaos dissipate and resolve into something whole.  And when that moment is complete, the call to create something new begins again.

So just as I received that deep sense of calm and joy through sustained attention, my artwork is meant not for a glance but reveals itself with all its layers of love over time.  My collectors are often drawn to the way the work holds memory, personality, and quiet presence time and time again each time they gaze at it.

That sense of transformation ---bringing order, meaning, and calm from fragments --carries through all of my work.  Whether creating collage quilt portraits or landscapes or nature, each piece develops through careful observation, attention to color and an intuitive shaping process.  Scraps, textures and hues are layered until an image emerges that feels grounded, coherent and alive. Color plays a central role in this work, used not simply for vibrancy, but to express warmth, vitality, and emotional depth.

At its core, this work is an ongoing response to that original call --to create, to shape meaning, and make sense of chaos.   The studio remains a place of listening, patience, and trust in the process, allowing the work to unfold naturally.   I feel great joy in blessing people's homes and other living spaces with memories that live in their minds and give them joy tool
